Robert Oblon, co-founder and past President of WorldVentures, a successful travel network marketing company based in Dallas, TX, has launched Travopoly, a new vacation club centered on travel benefits and service. In early 2009, Mr. Oblon left WorldVentures to pursue opportunities he believed had greater mass appeal to end user consumers as opposed to the complex elements and distribution systems often associated with multi-level network marketing. After developing and refining a vision for a vacation club that was not based on multilevel marketing, but instead based on the ideas of social network communities and peoples’ shared interest in travel, Mr. Oblon joined his former client turned partner, Ron Archer, and began the work to build Travopoly, a vacation club for consumers the likes of which the industry of travel has never seen.

One of Mr. Oblon’s key Advisory Board members is Mike Conway, an experienced executive with more than 35 years in the travel industry. In 1981 he was a co-founder of America West Airlines where he became the youngest CEO of a Major US Airline. America West achieved $1 billion in annual revenues after only five years. This airline was started from a blank sheet of paper and grew to more than 14,000 employees during Mr. Conway’s 12-year tenure at that carrier. Previous senior management positions in the airline industry included Founder, Chairman and CEO of National Airlines from 1995 to 2003 and President & CEO of Air Jamaica from 2005 to 2007. Mr. Conway began his airline career with Continental Airlines in 1980 serving as Vice President & Controller. During his airline career, Mr. Conway raised more than $2 billion in public and private equity, debt and aircraft financings. He has twice been named Airline Person of the Year by Travel Agent Magazine.

Prior to joining Continental, Mr. Conway, a CPA, worked in the New York office of Price Waterhouse for 10 years and became that firm’s lead airline and aerospace specialist. In addition, he managed several of that firm’s major clients including Exxon, General Foods, and ADT. Mr. Conway has also served as a Senior Advisor to a number of Wall Street Investment Banking firms, as well as a Financial and Aviation Consultant for investors and foreign airlines.

Mr. Oblon started building travel websites and technology in 1997, long before the Internet was filled with the travel giants of today. Working hand in hand with one of Southern California’s oldest travel agencies, he built the premier travel websites of the era, 1800MrCruise.com and DiscountAirBrokers.com. In their heyday, these travel portals took the lead as consumers took to the world-wide-web searching for the best travel deals.

In 2002, Mr. Oblon partnered with a new technology developer who created and introduced to the online world, the first meta-search engine in travel. This new technology was a downloadable application that enabled the end user to search over 20 airline websites simultaneously from one search. In 2004, the meta-search technology evolved into an ability to search vacation packages as well as airfares. Mr. Oblon went on to co-found the successful direct selling company WorldVentures in December 2005 in Dallas, Texas.

Imagine, if you can, the combination of these two gentlemen. Robert Oblon’s extensive travel and Internet business experience joined with the travel industry business expertise and success record of Mike Conway.

A formidable team built on success and experience, ready to make Travopoly, The World’s Greatest Vacation Club.
